How appropriate that my 200th post is barely a post at all?
My new job is progressing nicely. Although in the bottom 1/4 of the rankings in terms of units sold, I'm #2 in the organization in gross profits, and in total commissions.
Some of them have been there eight years....I've not yet been there eight weeks.
I don't understand why some people think they have to virtually give the product away to make a sale. Amazing.
Now then. I've been working 12 hour days, six days a week. I come home, get caught up on my reading of news and blogs, and find myself utterly tapped out. At the end of a day, there's really not much to add to what all's been said in the 'sphere all through the day.
So, I haven't, at least not in a few days.
Plus, I've had a friend and family both in the hospital in the past week. I've sat in the ER for five hours, and I've waited by the phone to hear from my Dad, who once again spent a few days in ICU and is now home again.
All in all, it has been a tumultuous week. Oddly though, I have the sense that the corner has been turned. I'm sure there are more struggles ahead, but I sense a focus and resolution that's been lacking.
I have it in me to write more, and I will.

Good to hear something from you, Jim... what sort of thing do you sell? It's not cars is it? I wouldn't want to buy a car from the guy with the highest-grossing record... if I knew about it beforehand, I mean.

Maybe you should sell yachts. You could offer integrity, which is sometimes lacking in the yacht sales game. I only was able to complete the deal on the "Lofoten Girl" due to negotiating directly with the seller. The broker was helpful neither to me or the seller. There's plenty of money in it at 10%. You only have to sell a couple a month to do well, and 4 or 5 per month will put you in the chips for sure.

Curious to see where the "focus and resolution" take you (and us).

I know what you mean, Jim. After a full day of work and kids, the last thing I want to do is stare at a phosphor screen for a couple of hours. But when the muse hits, you gotta get in there and let it out. Unfortunately, the muse usually hits me right between the eyes, and then it's lights out.

Drinking cures writers block. And hey. Even if it doesn't, after enough you don't care anyways.
