It's been a nearly perfect day here at the swamp.
Temperatures in the low 70s, almost no humidity, just the right bits o' clouds in the sky. Hell, I've been in khaki shorts and an Aloha shirt all day. Couldn’t have picked a prettier day to launch this small blog.
After spending about two solid hours on the phone with Paul in Canada, I think the site is tweaked fairly close to what’ll be the ongoing look. I say ongoing, instead of final for obvious reasons. This blog is too damned new to have a final anything.
There’s still about a half-hour of daylight remaining. My good friend Marcus is out on the flats, fishing for flounder. (his lovely, red-toenailed, whiskey sippin', cigar puffin darlin’ of a wife said he could, really!) Actually, Marcus was at the office with me earlier, too. So was Ms. DeAnna I'd asked 'em both to sit in on the conference call with Paul. That way, I can blame THEM when (and I surely will) screw up something simple on TypePad.
I’ve got the galley fired up for a simple repast. Pan-fried, spicy steak, cubed, then mixed with a very delectable butter & herb wild rice, a can of Cream of Broccoli soup. Simple, tasty and filling. And a good trade for a couple of fresh flounder fillets from only a stone’s throw from the dock.
A beautiful day. A warm welcome on the net. (THANK YOU, EVERYONE!). Good food and good friends. Fishing. Bourbon and Cigars to come.
It doesn’t get much better.
OMG! I get a mention on your blog? *faint*
It was nice meeting you two old coots. ;)

Jim - Welcome to 'sphere. While I don't have a blog, you were immediately bookmarked.Anyone who found their way through the auspices of Kim, Connie, Rachel, and Acid must be worth keeping an eye on. I have a feeling that one day I'll be saying " I knew him when" ... All the best. Terry

Rob, anytime you want to make the drive to Galveston, I'll put a couple of the finest sirloins on the grill. Pinto beans from the Heavens, too.
And I'll have peanut butter for Oddball, too.
And, DeAnna? COOTS? DIRTY OLD MEN? why, thank you, young lady. NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM! *lol*
