As promised, here's a Christmas Day post from the Dadster's in Orlando, FL.
Nice to be here for the occassion. The last time he and I were in each other's company was two Christmases ago. That's too long. But, at least he didn't give me the well-deserved lump o' coal I was excpecting. *grin* (he's always been a good, amateur Santa)
One truly good gift will be shared with all of you in the not-too-distant-future. Harkening back to my comments on the First 100 Years of Flight, I think I can predict that I'll have my Dad's typed recollections of his flights with his brother edited and posted here. Might take a few weeks to get it all worked out, but it's a project in the works.
Otherwise, we're just doing the family Christmas stuff. My gracious and wonderful stepmom is even doing a couple loads of was for me, and will not let me run her washer n' dryer! I'm not complaining, such luxury happens all to rarely for me.
I've not tuned into the news since Tuesday night, so I'll have lots to catch up on, later.
Sounds like you're just having a good kick-back and relax time. Good for you.

Jim,
Smiled a huge smile at how your stepmom won't let you near her washer & dryer. It's a gal thing. I wouldn't let you near mine either. Yes, yes, you pilot a boat, you create magic with your computer...but you go near a woman's washing machine and you risk injury . We just know how our babies function and how to treat them. Now, step away from the washer nice and slow, no sudden moves....
Really looking forward to those memories of you father's filying experiences. One of my deepest regrets is that we never recorded, in any fashion, my tather's recollections of serving in some incredible times. (He became terminally ill with lung cancer when I was 20. ) So get those memories recorded NOW, don't put if off! Each year, more and more of our veterans of WWII, Korea, and now, Vietnam are slipping away to their well-earned rest. Let us capture their moments before they are all gone.
All the best to you and your dear family.
