Pardon my all too obvious absence over the past couple o' days.
Stress sucks. Pure and simple.
Sucks, I tell ya!
Between hammering an updated resume into shape, (which is great fun not, without a printer on which to generate proofs, budgeting outgoing funds against zero incoming funds, (also not fun), and otherwise living life on as minimal terms as possible, I've not really had the zip to rip, rant, rock n' roll, blogwise.
Once I find a way to get the ol' piggy bank out of ICU, I'm sure my mood will brighten, the sun will come out, birds will sing again and all will be right with the world. Being springtime, all that'll happen anyway, but I'll enjoy the party more when I can afford to pay attention to it.
In the meanwhile though, bear with me as I focus on things a bit more important than this mere blog.
Worry not, I'll keep posting as I see fit. I am not going out on hiatus, merely reordering priorities until such time as I can loosen up and relax here, with y'all.
Keep visiting, y'never know when I'll pop up with a new post. For the record, let me say that I appreciate each and every reader, commenter and all those who've linked to my humble blog.
I endeavor to not let you down. Nor, myself.
At last! A man who can prioritize!!!
Keep your eyes on the prize. We'll wait.

What the heck do you mean "humble" blog?
We'll get that humility beaten out of you yet! ;)
Humility is for those who have a reason for it, is what our Imperial parents have always said.

Yeah, stress does bite. ;[
Do what you need to do, Jim, and take care of yourself. We'll all still be here when you get done.
'Course... we'll probably all be lined up clicking every few minutes like people waiting for a new Bill Whittle post. ;]

We all have priorities. It's good to see someone who has his straight.
Best of luck in finding a new source of income!

Good luck, Jim. This is the part that really sucks, particularly the parts involving waiting.

Jim, I have no doubts at all that you'll be employed again in no time...and while it may look all gloomy now, at least you know that you can go out this afternoon and get a filler-in job that would keep the cats in cat food and you in bandwidth.

Find some way to mention that you own, live in and maintain a sailing vessel.Any possible employer worth his word would know you're competent.Best of luck to you.

loiq has somethin' there, Jim. I have gotten interviews simply because I mentioned that I raised sheep and they interviewed me out of curiosity (about the sheep). I got hired for one contract that I was the least qualified candidate for because the person doing the hiring had also kept sheep.

Thank you, one and all.
I'm working the problem, as they say. Life on the island here has it's good points, but depth of employment opportunities isn't one of 'em.
Of course, I'm casting about inland for drive-able opportunities, but I'm trying like hell to avoid having to do the 1 hr. each way lemming lurch into Houston. *gag*spew*
I'll do it if I must; such is life.
Regardless, I'm keeping my focus on what's important. I do intend to keep posting here, but we'll just have to see how much and how well.
I'm abandoning neither blog, nor ship.
Again, my thanks to each of you.

Stress is great. It justifies another bottle of Ardbeg.
