The good news is that I have a replacement PC being shipped. I've confirmed today that it'll be here either this Saturday or this coming Monday.
Even better though, is finding out how great y'all are. I've received tons of encouraging e-mail from so many of you out there. Many of you aren't regular commenters, but believe me on this, you're just as valued and just as important as the most ardent poster.
Thankfully, no trolls! *heh*
Anyway, I'm using a bit of donated PC time from the boss' office to send out this update. I am checking mail daily, but simply don't have the circumstances here at work to allow for much in the way of e-mail exchanges beyond simple, brief thanks and acknowledgements.
But those mails are like gold to me. Lifelines, if you will; a very important thing to a sailor.
I'll post more updates as they come, and as time permits some net access. Believe me, I've tons to write about, once I'm back online aboard ship.
Until then, thanks for checking in.

I'm glad you both have a replacement computer on the way and a job to keep you in groceries and cigars. I look forward to reading you when you can post more regularly again. Gotta have enough curmudgeons out there to keep up the blogging while I'm moving to France!

Glad to hear you're getting back on the horse soon Jim. Let us know how that new job is going too, eh?

It's about darned time!
Hope your new job is suiting you well. I'm about ready to chuck civilization myself and let them find me living on my boat in the upper reaches of a bayou somewhere. Some days are better'n others.

Hurry!! You are too greatly missed. Nice of the boss to give you the loaner, tho. Thanks to him.

Good to see a post with today's date on it...I recall that there used to be a variety of "keyboard condoms" to prevent such inundations of the equipment. Wonder if they still sell them?
Speking of selling...what and where are you selling/sales managing now?

If so, Rivrdog, I need one, right?
Been working on the big FU all day -- with a helper, even. Maybe one day.

Good news on both fronts Jim. Really glad to hear the techno-replacement's in the pipeline and the new gig's working out well.
Give me a shout if you want/need a hand getting the new machine all tricked out.

Jim, I'm going into withdrawals here.
P.S. Any plans to add an Amazon wish list? Does Amazon sell cat food?

Miss you! Hope things are working out for ya. Let me know if you need an ear. ; )

Key: He's from Texiss, remember? He doesn't need an ear, but two horns and an extra testicle might work. *heh*

Dude! You gotta do SOMETHING!
Two cans and a string, whatever...
I need to READ!

LOL! Me too, Cajun! Another day, another disappointment!! Maybe the Sun Will Come Up Tomorrow!!!
Posted by: Indigo | March 24, 2004 at 03:59 PM
I'm getting a bit impatient myself.
Hope you're not in jail for throwing the cat overboard.

This is a sassy post from your blog-progeny Rivrdog. If you can't get your personal blogging equipment together, borrow someone else's computer or go to the public library or an Internet Cafe to blog.
The blogging outage takes a little something from all of us, every day.
(Sounding like a mushy Liberal) We need your wit and advice, Jim. Get back to us.

(Sounding EVEN MORE like a mushy Liberal) Um... yeah... what he said.

Dude, I check in every day hoping to see something.
When you finally get your stuff straight, I just know you've got like "War and Peace" stored up in your head waiting...
We are expecting no less...
