The Narcissism of Liberals

It seems that I'm perceived in some quarters as quite a threatening sorta guy.

The lefties have been immersing themselves in their paranoia via a poll to determine just who is the most evil blogger linked by Instapundit. "THE VICIOUS INSTAPUNDIT BLOGROLL CONTEST"

My post on The Lessons of Enemies was nominatation Number Nine. I'm in fine company, being listed among the truly evil Acidman, Misha (see the comment thread on that one), KimDuToit and sundry other right-thinking bloggers.

And true to the Liberal tradition of Lautenberg replacing Toricelli, I'm not even qualified, per their rules to be nominated, in that Instapundit remains blind to the manifold splendors of Smoke on the Water.

Here are some choice quotes from a few panicked leftards regarding "The Lessons of Enemies":

Well first off, given that Kim DuToit blogrolls me under his category "Other Angry Basatrds With Guns", why, I'll take that lame attempt at aspersion as quite the compliment. Thank you! Next, notice the commenter's typical liberal "it's all about meeeee!!!" response to an indictment of which, he's very much unlikely to be included.

That is, unless he finds himself out on the street dancing with joy at the killing, burning, mutilation and beheading of American contractors, Soldiers and independent civilians.

..."Still, I'm going to have to vote for an entry has so far been overlooked--#9. Why? Because it's the one entry I felt targeted me personally. Check the whole thing out--it's frightening. Liberals=terrorists; therefore, we should kill all the liberals. "

Notice again, he feels targeted "personally". See my previous take on the "all about meeeee!!!!" factor. Kindly point out for me, where I've ever advocated the killing of all liberals? You'll never find it. My only concern is the tiny percentage of rabidly anti-American so-called liberals who'd actually take to the streets, dancing with joy at the barbaric deaths of their countrymen.

A word on that "it's all about meeeee!!!!!" reaction. Its just narcissism on parade, folks.

Bonus points (and I mean that, sincerely), for Tom Dissento having the integrity to point out that.....

Tom's right. This is unjust and cannot stand. I would hope that y'all reading this would send a note to Glenn ([email protected]), expressing your outrage at his oversight in failing to link to Smoke on the Water.

Okay now. Let me wrap this up with a little common sense for all you Chicken Little Libs out there. Go back and re-read "The Lessons of Enemies", and ask yourselves this; .....were you more thrilled with the opportunity to make political hay from the disgusting misdeeds of a few American troops, than with revulsion and horror at the true crimes against humanity perpetrated by Saddam and his Baathists?

Did you really equate the stupid, irresponsible and admittedly shameful acts of a handful of soldiers at Abu Grhaib to Saddam's slaughter of hundreds of thousands of his subjects?

Is the passing humiliation of nudity and derision the same to you, as the unimaginable agony and horrifying death of being passed feet first, though a machine made to chew plastic into scrap?

For all the wailing, screaming and outraged demands for the head of Rumsfeld on your platter of self-righteousness, I bet you never epxected to literally have the severed head of Nicholas Berg brutally placed thereon, as a reward to your clamor.

And I called you on it.

Now then, in all fairness, I'll be the first to acknowledge that 99.9% of even the most liberal of liberals shared the shock, outrage and disgust of an entire Nation at the unspeakable barbarity laid upon Mr. Berg.

Pity y'all didn't think of "cause and effect" first, when so loudly using the Abu Grhaib events as your latest whipping boy in your quest for a return to power.

I'll even go further, and wager that an absolutely overwhelming percentage of liberal Americans would stand shoulder to shoulder and rifle with rifle with me, were we faced with the horrors of a Falujah bridge scene or a knife-hacking hooded killer wreaking brutal, horrifying death on one of our own countrymen.

But if you find yourself among the minority of minorities... if you choose to betray your countrymen, your nation and your allegiance, and would rather dance with joy over the burned, brutalized and broken bodies of your fellow Americans, well, be my guest.

Because then, not only would not have a hard time telling you apart from the terrorits, I'd damn well count you among their number. And, yes then......

.....You'd make large, lovely targets.

There's not a sane person on Earth that will deny that Saddam was unimaginably worse then the prisoner abuse by Americans. However, that's not the point...The outrage is all because we are supposed to be 'liberated' these people, yet we tortured them.

If a foreign army ever invades US soil, I WILL stand rifle to rifle with you, and I'll take as many of those bastards down with me as I can. But we're not the defenders in this war, this was an unecessary offensive action.

Cripes! When every other "nomination" is from Misha's site, you know they don't get out much. Of course, that's pretty typical. If they every DID get out much, they might be forced to get a clue, which would in turn remove them from the list of the living brain-dead.

Maybe if I were to write a post on how all anti-war protesters should be drawn and quartered... do you think that would get me in?
