And it could be worth MILLIONS.
Literally.
My good friend and fellow sailor Rivrdog has seemingly been hit by a lightning bolt of pure genius. Which is impressive, considering he's a pretty damn smart ol' salt to begin with!
As many of you know, the donks have been leaning back on the ropes lately in regards to gun control. But don't be fooled; they've not thrown in the towel on this issue. Not for a moment. Even now, Fineswine and her ilk are shrieking bloody hell over the impending sunset demise of the ill considered and misnamed "Assault Weapons Ban".
The renewal of which is still very much hanging in the balance. The GFW's had the pure votes in the Senate last time to get it attatched to another bill, but we were were spared that foul outcome. Go read Geek With A .45's update and Alphecca's Weekly Check on the Bias for up to the moment details.
But now to Rivrdog's brilliant plan:
Gun ownership/carry rights should be in the forefront of this National Election, but unfortunately, this theme has been relegated to a minor role.I have an idea that might bring it back to the forefront of the election.
Prior military service members may remember hearing an old military parable that went like this: A base commander of an Army post somewhere here in the US got tired of his troops being considered second-class citizens in the local area, so he devised an idea of how to raise the consciousness of the local citizens to the fact that the troops had a real and positive impact in their lives.
Now, go read the rest of his plan. I'll patiently wait right here.
Back already? Good!
How 'bout that idea of his? Pretty damn clever of him, I'd say!
For an exceedingly light tap on our wallets, I think his idea is worth millions. Literally.
So, if you have a blog, link up his plan! And for all you loyal readers out there? Kindly send this permalink to your other favorite reads, and ask 'em to link back to Riverdog, too.
With a loud enough fiscal shout between now and November 2nd, the reverberations might just stiffen a wobbly, pro-gun spine or two.
And that could make all the difference in the world.
Ummm Jim... Either my browser is snafu or you didn't get that link right... Where be it?

Sorry about the double-ping....it's a Typepad issue. Everytime I trackback to Typepad sites, Typepad reports back a ping error, but posts the trackback anyway. This means if I make a minor edit after posting, the Typepad site gets pinged AGAIN because MT thinks it didn't go through the first time.

Jim: Please keep this updated on your blog. If the suggested site gets up, I'd like to send a check for $7.62.
