Well, Jim, it's good to see your voice will be back. I hope the reasons for your hiatus have been resolved to your satisfaction. Just remember when you assail those on the left-wing:

Assuming either the Left Wing or the Right Wing gained control of the country, it would probably fly around in circles.
-Pat Paulsen

Just as no person is correct 100% of the time, no political philosophy is correct ALL the time either. The key is recognizing when there is a better way.

Seems many bloggers are depending on 2005 to pull them out of the doldrums. Me included!!! Glad you're back. A day without "Smoke", just ain't a good day!!

He's got a couple things pissing him off! Oh boy, can't wait! Batten down the hatches folks, its gonna be great!

So glad to see you gracing the blogsphere again Jim. Place was just not the same without you.

Aquila

We get the holidays behind us then we go on to the lnogeration and the disadents will be there in droves like they were in january of 2001 and ranting about bush stealing the election what a bunch of idiots who want to even look at the stupid little whinning idiots?

Yes, it's a good feeling to recognize that the MSM now factor in the "take" of the blogosphere into their "thinking".

Two points to dampen that warm fuzzy, though:

1. The blogosphere has evil participants, like the IndyMedia sites, DU and Kos, and the MSM will soon, if not now, start cherrypicking the 'sphere for support of THEIR take on things.

2. The MSM were forced into this accomodation of the blogosphere, and rather than recognizing us as individual thinkers, will always try to put a collectivist spin on us. Hell, we do that to ourselves with all our link-whoring, carrying ads and trying to squeeze blood money out of these screeds. Unless we maintain our individuality in some obvious way, we WILL become tools of the MSM. Notice I did not say MIGHT become tools, but WILL become tools. They will cite Kos as an individualist thinker, but deny Indigo Lynx because she belongs to the NC Bloggers group.

The lesson here for us righty bloggers is SPONTANEAITY (sp?). If we write spontaneously, publish for ourselves, and link less, we avoid the MSM's fishnet. The Lefty bloggers will always seek support amongst themselves, and have few original ideas other than conspiracy theories by the zillions.

We don't want to get used to basking in the warm glow from the MSM. The only thing the current MSM has to teach us is how to lack objectiveness.

Forget the MSM. Blog for yourself.

Jim, you branded as a right wing reactionary???? Naaaa never happen *grin*. Can't wait to see what has got your blood boiling. Hope this year is a good one for you and Fair Winds and Following Seas are the rule and not the exception for the year.

Aaahhhh, you've unfurled the sails and have a good wind at your back. Glad to see you're at the wheel with a glint in your eye!

Hope your new year is going well, and welcome back!
