In a world overflowing with ugliness, beauty yet abounds.
A week suffering the repulsive assault of the Cajun Crackwhore, featuring well, what else....her crack; I arrived home with my senses numbed and my face hard. Work has been such of late, but I'm saved only by the love which awaits at the home to which I hurry, nightly.
With dinner complete tonight, one random click of the remote landed the TV upon such as I had never seen nor heard. And at the first crystaline note, my heart melted, my face softened. Gone, the hardness, the bitter and angry defense against an ugly election, ugly media, ugly customers and an increasingly bleak and ugly culture.
I'm sure I'm the ultimate latecomer to the phenomenon which is the group Celtic Woman. But I'm equally sure that I'll not be the last on this bandwagon.
Believe me, incredibly though it may seem, they sound even better than they look. They are indeed, a tonic for a weary soul.
Think of this. Such is the power, majesty and quality of their performance, that the nausea which has been months of the self-crucifying madonna are purged from the mind's eye, gone and replaced by beauty and vocal splendor which the mateiral girl false prophet of whoredom could never imagine.
The Dixie Chicks Ditzy Twits only dream of possessing a tenth of the talent, grace and beauty of this ensemble.
With the thundering orchestration of a Yanni production, yet displaying a subtlety and depth of musical nuance far beyond his ken, these young women prove once more, that true muscial talent will always endure, and shall yet prevail.
I am refreshed and grateful.
There is yet, hope.
Even for me.
Welcome back, Capt'n.
Great minds, and all that. We caught the Celtic Woman program on PBS this evening as well. OutStanding stuff.
Glad to see you're still kicking. We have much to do between now and 04NOV08.

I have their DVD, courtesy of a friend of mine who LOVES them. When we last were in Toronto visiting this "friend", he & his wife got invited out to go and see them; we urged them to go as we knew how much they loved Celtic Woman.
Glad you caught & enjoyed the show.

I believe the "Kentwood Crack Whore" would be a much better tag. The very idea I could share the same ethnicity with this tart sickens me greatly.
Filthy little tramp...

Yes, welcome back...and I agree. I had never heard of them before. I typically DVR most of the "Great Performances" on PBS, and they rarely ever let me down These women, however, simply stunned me with the depth of their talent.

This time of year, I like to listen to the stylings of Trans Siberian Orchestra, electronica with a real orchestra, Mannheim Steamroller on steroids.
Catch them in concert, either with your squeeze or stag (you won't believe the chicks this group attracts).

Haven't visited in awhile, good to see you back, Jim.
We are hooked by these incredible performers. I pre-ordered their latest CD & DVD "A New Journey" filmed at Slane Castle in Ire., and am anxiously awaiting delivery in a week or so.
Just stunning.
